Malcolm Pledge - Club Director, Director of Coaching
Malcolm Pledge is the founding Director of the Gators Soccer Club and offers a wealth of
soccer knowledge and experience. As club Director, he focuses on the need for young
players to enjoy themselves as they learn and grow in the game of soccer.
In England, Malcolm was an Oxford United apprentice who played mainly semi-pro and
played for many teams around the south of England before a broken ankle turned his career
permanently to coaching at the age 33 years old. During his playing career, Malcolm played
nearly every position, but primarily Sweeper. More often than not, he found himself in the role
of club captain and has brought that leadership skill to his role as a coach and director.
Malcolm has coached for more than 25 years in England and the United States, and retains
licenses in both countries. He was honored as the MYSL Coach of the Year in 2005.
The Gators Soccer Club is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for Malcolm – to provide an
atmosphere in which young players can learn, grow and excel; and to provide an experience
that provides a lifetime of enjoyable memories.
Malcolm is currently coaching U10 Boys, U12 Girls, U14 Girls and U15 Boys.
